Today marks my third month as an itinerant Missionary with Iris Ministries in South America, leaving my job and my home in Dallas this past January to embark on what is truly a wild, unknown, God-ordained adventure. How He loves a ‘Holy Takeover’ of a life, as each of His children walk in His steps we too find the joy in losing our lives so that we may truly gain them in Him.
I see a lot on the road, crippling poverty, sickness, violence, lifeless land and hungry people. People this world over are starving for more than this life has to offer. God says He has set eternity in the hearts of men and everywhere you go on this continent you can see the longing in hungry eyes, hungry souls, and hungry hearts for something more. We WILL be filled with something, we were made to be. My job is to be the light bearer, the messenger of what is truly good news, true hope in Jesus. My name, Angela, literally means “messenger of God”, I love that My Father lets me partner alongside Him and a team of other wild God loving adventurers to share our hope the world over.

“But what is left for the cold grey soul,
that moans like a wounded dove?
One wine is left in the broken bowl
tis- to love, and love, and love.
—-
Better to sit at the waters birth
than a sea of waves to win;
To live in the love that floweth forth
Than the love that cometh in
—-
Be thy heart a well of love my child
Flowing and free and sure.
For a cistern of love, though undefiled,
Keeps not the spirit pure.”
- George MacDonald “Phantastes”
Who doesn’t love the wisdom and poetic expression that George MacDonald brought us, his works have laid such broad and solid foundations for many successive authors who have found words and worlds in the embankments of his footprints.
